40" Wide Sterling Co-Extrusion Sheet Line

Used 40" wide Sterling co-extrusion sheet line. reconditioned in 1998-2000 to produce films of synthetic paper 4-20 mils thick. Line consists of the following:
- 3.5" Sterling 30:1 L/D extruder driven by a 125 HP DC motor with Allen Bradley series "B" SCR controller, 440 volt AC input. Extruder is electrically heated and water cooled including closed loop water cooling system and side vented (plugged) barrel. With 14/1 gearbox ratio.
- Maag melt pump currently mounted on 3.5" extruder.
- 2.5" Sterling co-extruder, 30:1 L/D with 13.351 gearbox reduction and 50 HP DC motor with SCR controller. Has electrically heated water cooled barrel with closed loop water cooling system.
- 2.5" Entwhistle co-extruder, 30:1 L/D with non-vented barrel, driven by a 50 HP Reliance DC motor with SCR control.
Each of the above extruders are equipped with 3.5" MGB Engineering screen changers with oversized 3HP hydraulic pumping system for all three changers.
- Mann and Hummel 4-component resin volumetric dosing system for the 3.5" extruder and resin loaders for the 2.5" co-extruders, including vacuum pump.
- Co-extrusion feed block for the three extruders and a Cloeren 1200mm (47") epoch III flex lip sheet die with lip opening .000"-.050" and lip slot with 1120mm (44").
- 40" wide Sterling hydraulically loaded chill roll stack including hydraulic pumping system. Downstack operation including temperature control package with heat exchangers and pumps and rubber pull roll assembly.
- NDC model 6100TC thickness gauging system with NDC model 103 sensor probe.
- Solo systems 2-sided Corona treating station for 40" webs and Softal generator type 3009RV for up to 3.5kW.
- 40" Egan single turret winder for 36" diameter rolls including dancer and lay-on roll.
- Rosenthal 48" sheeter, new 2000 for sheeting 3-20 mils synthetic paper includes (2) unwinders for rolls 36" diameter X 500 lbs each on 6" cores. Sheeter includes heavy duty score cuts slitting for maximum 4 slits and speed 23-24 meters per minute. Has output conveyor 36" long. Sheeter is currently working inline at this time.

Has standard top center feed, stainless steel hopper, and base mounted 8-zone temperature control panel with Eurothermmodel 94C instruments. Includes Sterlco 9kw water heater for screw rotary union. Previously used on 1 mil/20 mil product.
- 8" wide Masterflex sheet die with back center feed.
- Downstream includes 5" o.d. x 8" wide Killion 3 roll sheet stack. Has (2) ceramic rolls installed and (1) polished chrome roll. Spare rolls include (1) matt finish, (2) rubber rolls, (2) chrome rolls. Each roll equipped with Sterlco 9kw temperature controller, 230 volt AC input. Chrome rolls are driven by 2 hp motor. Downstream also includes: Razor edge trim slitting station, Auxillary unwind for extrusion coating capability with 3" air shaft and control, Single position winder with 6" air shafts and control.
- Has Allen Bradley touch screen operator controls.

Has electrically heated water cooled system with water pump. Extruder is driven by a 150 HP DC motor with SCR control, has Lufkin change gear gearbox. Extruder is equipped with a static mixer and co extrusion block. Has 55" centerline height.
- Beringer screen changer with hydraulic pump.
- Welex 56/56 melt pump with 20 HP motor, serial #8789.
- 34" flex lip die with choker bar and replaceable lower lip.
- 18" X 41" Welex sheet extrusion stack. Model 18X41RHSL , serial #4750. Rolls are silent chain driven, and air actuated nipping pressure with 8.5" OD cylinders. Has 42" wide rubber to metal 6" diameter pull roll package driven by 1 HP motor and includes dual razor blade slitting station. Includes temperature control pumping package, operator control panel.
Previous use high impact polystyrene in a laboratory setting.

Unit has a 3-zone built-onto-frame temperature control system with three 3 HP pumps, three heaters, and three heat exchangers. 4.5" Sterling 36:1 L/D single screw extruder driven by a 200 HP DC motor with SCR control. Extruder has 78" centerline. Previously used extruding horizontally into chill roll chrome nip roll. Extruder is double vented (1 vent presently plugged) and includes vacuum system and closed loop water cooling system for barrel heat/cool. Includes (2) spare screws.
4.5" Sterling hydraulic plate screen changer with hydraulic power pack.
15 HP Luwa mill pump.
(2) sheet extrusion dies as follows:
- 66" Johnson flex lip sheet die with 45 degree restrictor bar and removable lower lip supplying .001 through .250" gap.
- 60" EDI H75 sheet extrusion die for .001 through .075" gap.
66" wide Sterling sheet cooling roll take off with (4) cooling/polishing rolls mounted in a cast line configuration. Extruder therefore extrudes downward into (2) 8" diameter chrome rolls which then "S" wraps through (2) 14" diameter chrome rolls. All chrome/polishing rolls are individually driven by a DC motor with SCR controls.
Has idler roll conveyor and (2) rubber pull roll haul off.
Includes spare chrome/polishing rolls as follows:
- (2) 8" diameter and (2) 14" diameter
(2) dual zone oil temperature control units (4 zones total) for use with chrome/polishing rolls.
Wysong 72" shear model 1272.
Sheet stacker for use with shear for automatic stacking of extruded cut sheets.
Conair desiccant dryer withe 4000 lb hopper.
Equipment reported completely rewired and some items rebuilt and used sparingly after rebuilding.
