Formaldehyde Plant, 200 TPD
Used formaldehyde plant built in 2000 by CAL Polymers and shut down in July 2013. Plant has a total capacity of 200 TPD of formaldehyde 37% and 260 TPD of formaldehyde based resins.
The plant consists of (1) unit with capacity of 90 TPD made in 2000, (1) unit with capacity of 110 TPD made in 2002 and equipment to produce approximately 260 TPD of resins.
Plant consists of the following major equipment:
- blower / process air system
- hot oil condenser
- reactor / liquid hot oil system
- vaporizer / after cooler system
- absorber system
- catalytic converter
- pumps and motors
- instruments and controls
- valves and fittings
- motor control centre
- (2) 25 M3 reactors, (2) 10 M3 reactors, (1) 17 M3 reactor, (2) 12 M3 reactors, (2) 25 M3 cooling reactors.

Partial Plant and System for Production of Mixed Alcohols and/or Crude Methanol, 5,000,000 Gal/Year
Partial plant and system for production of mixed alcohols and/or crude methanol with capacity of 5,000,000 gallons per year. Plant was designed to convert biomass gas into organic alcohols and is available as a complete Fischer Tropsch system or as separate modules. It is a Pentaine based batch Azeotrope separation system. The Fischer Tropsche process equipment and systems downstream included are:
- gas clean up
- compression (2 sets)
- catalytic converter
- alcohol cooling / compression
system is reported to have been installed 2009/2010 and to have been used for only (42) days. Designed for 125 tons per Day woody biomass input for 5,000,000 gallons per year methanol output. Manuals and drawings are available.
The following is not included: wood yard, real estate, front end feed, gasifier, plant proper or boiler, air, waste water, loadout.

100000 TPY FORMALDEHYDE PLANTS
Used formaldehyde production site consisting of the following plants:
- Formaldehyde production plant (F1) made in 1969 with capacity of 35,000 tonnes/year of 37% formaldehyde. Uses silver process technology by Spechim (France).
- Formaldehyde production plant (F3) made in 1975 with capacity of 62,240 tonnes/year of 37% formaldehyde. Uses silver process technology by Spechim (France).
- Phenol formaldehyde resins plant with capacity 20,000 tonne/year (used in insulation) made in 1985 but with some upgrading in 2009. Batch production using (4) reactors with capacity of 20m3, 20m3, 12m3 and 1m3. Technological upgrading of RK-9 in 2009.
- Plant made in 1965 for batch production of urea formaldehyde, melamin urea formaldehyde and melamin formaldehyde. Production capacity approximately 155,000 tonnes/year of UF/MUF/MF. Uses (4) reactors with capacity 20m3, (1) reactor with 20m3 capacity and (1) reactor with capacity 5m3. Some technological upgrading in 2011 (RK-1 and RK-6).
Alkyd Resin Plant (Repurposed for Solvent Recovery)
Used alkyd resin/solvent recovery plant built in 1997 with reportedly little use and some unused items. Current owner bought the plant, relocated it, and added equipment to convert into a solvent recovery plant.
Owner advises that the equipment could be used to make many different chemicals including alkyd resin, solvent, acid, paint, etc.
Major equipment includes:
- (3) Reactors made by Senlikoglu Inoks fro 316 stainless steel. Capacity and power of each is 7300l with 15kW motor, 11500l with 22kW motor and 1200l with 7.5 kW motor.
- (2) Heat exchangers with surface area 33m2 and 3m2, made by Senlikoglu Inoks from 316 stainless steel.
- (7) 316 stainless steel tanks made by Senlikoglu Inoks, Burak Industrial Machinery and Aslanlar Stainless. Capacity of each is 200l, 200l, 100l, 2000l, 9000l, 3000l and 3000l.
- Hot oil heating system made by Senlikoglu Inoks.
- Cooling tower made by Oncel Cooling Systems with water cooling capacity 150,000 kcal/hour.
- motors and pumps.
- Electrical installation panel (unused).
- Hardware and auxiliary equipment including 10 bar compressor with 50l capacity and (2) 2 ton pallet trucks.
- Mechanical installation: pipes, valves, meters, thermostats, etc.
- Platforms, ladders, etc.
- Barrel filling machine.
